Compliance and international business law

The three-semester master’s degree in Business Law & Compliance degree program offers you the opportunity to obtain additional qualifications in business law with a focus on compliance and risk management on a part-time basis, especially if you are aiming for or already working in the field of legal advisory, compliance or risk management.

The degree program is ideal for you if you have already obtained a first university degree in a law or business degree program and would like to improve your professional opportunities by obtaining an internationally recognized Master of Laws. Classes are held in a mix of in-person and online instruction.

In addition, with our cooperation partner you can obtain the certificates  Compliance Officer mit TÜV Rheinland geprüfter Qualifikation (Compliance Officer with TÜV Rheinland certified qualification) and Datenschutzbeauftragter mit TÜV Rheinland geprüfter Qualifikation (Data Protection Officer with TÜV Rheinland certified qualification). With the realignment of the degree program, there are plans to also enable participants to acquire a certificate in cyber security in collaboration with a partner university in the future.

What's in store for you in the Master’s in Busi­ness Law & Compliance degree program

In the first two semesters of the Business Law & Compliance degree program, lectures take place on Friday afternoons from 1:30 pm to 8:15 pm and Saturday mornings from 8:15 am to 1:30 pm (sometimes to 3:15 pm). The winter semester runs from the end of September to the end of January, the summer semester from the beginning of March to the end of June. Exams are held during the semester or during the week of exams directly following the semester. In addition, there will be a week of full-time classes in early February and early July. There is no lecture-free period in February with this study model.

Program structure Master of Laws in Busi­ness Law

Classes in compliance fundamentals are supplemented by classes in Business Criminal Law & HR Compliance, International White-Collar Crime & Fraud Management, International Tax Law & Compliance, and Foreign Trade Law & Compliance. Students are prepared for working in an international environment through the lectures Intercultural Business Communication, Legal Project Management and Communication, and International Business. Classes are further supplemented by options.
