Time-Based Media at Gamescom 2024

Students present innovative games and gather valuable feedback at the world’s largest games exhibition

The Time-Based Media degree program looks back on its successful stint at Gamescom 2024. For the seventh time now, the degree program presented its innovative projects at the world’s largest games exhibition, which attracted 335,000 visitors from over 120 countries this year.

Under the direction of Linda Kruse, Professor of Serious Games, the students presented a total of seven playable games and prototypes at the collective trade show display of Rhineland-Palatinate. This platform offered the students an excellent opportunity to present their latest projects to a wide audience and gather valuable feedback. In addition to the presentation of projects, young talented individuals had the opportunity to find out about the wide range of study opportunities at the School of Design.

Special thanks go to the Innovationsagentur RLP and GameUp! who provided the impressive booth in the Indie Arena and the catering. We would also like to thank our booth neighbors from Kaiserslautern and Koblenz for being such good neighbors and for the inspiring exchange.

Gamescom is more than just a trade exhibition – it is a meeting place for creativity and innovation. We look forward to being there again next year and invite all interested parties to visit us at Gamescom in Cologne from August 20 to 24, 2025. After all, after Gamescom is before Gamescom: We’ll see you in 2025!
