Scientific Communication

Faculty members complete skills training at the WissKomm Academy

On July 3, the WissKomm Academy organized the final event of this year’s scientific communication training for researchers at all career levels at universities and universities of applied sciences in Rhineland-Palatinate. Prof. Dr. Markus Hehn from the School of Business and Prof. Claudia Nass Bauer from the School of Design attended from Mainz University of Applied Sciences.

Together with trainer Gabriele Schweickhardt and coordinator Aglaia Bianchi, the participants reflected on the practical application of the knowledge they had previously acquired in the three modules Lecturing Skills, Interview and Panel Discussion, and Communication in the Digital Space at the final workshop. The certificates were then presented to the participants by the Secretary General of the Academy of Sciences and Literature | Mainz, Prof. Dr. Claudius Geisler.

The WissKomm Academy’s next Scientific Communication skills training course is planned for spring 2024.

 

WissKomm Academy

The WissKomm Academy is a pilot project of the Academy of Sciences and Literature | Mainz, funded by the Ministry of Science and Health of the State of Rhineland-Palatinate. It addresses the topic of scientific communication, with reflection and inflection in various aspects and formats, with the aim of establishing a competence center for scientific communication in Rhineland-Palatinate. In addition to events on core issues of science communication and key topics in science, the pilot project includes skills training for researchers on strategies and methods for professional and successful scientific communication, as well as an Academy Award for Science Journalism.
