Ann-Kathrin Grohs receives the 2021 Kurt Dörr Prize

Ann-Kathrin Grohs, a graduate in the bachelor’s degree program in Business Law, was awarded the 2021 Kurt Dörr Prize by the sponsoring association Alumnity e.V. for her special commitment to the School of Business. Professor Kurt Dörr, who gave the award its name, was a co-founder of today's School of Business and Mainz University of Applied Sciences. Traditionally, the Kurt Dörr Prize, endowed with 500 Euro, has been awarded during the Academic Graduation Ceremony since 2004. Since the 2021 graduation ceremony was cancelled due to covid, the prizes for 2021 and 2022 were awarded this year.

The 2021 award winner has made an extraordinary personal commitment during her time as a student. This ranges from co-initiating, setting up, and running the first Hackathon in 2020 to her involvement as a DigitalChangeMaker at the University Forum on Digitization in 2020 and 2021. In addition, Ann-Kathrin Grohs was a member of election committees several times and she was involved with the AStA as a vice chairperson. During the covid pandemic, she supported the university task force as a student member from 2020 to 2021. In addition, she has been particularly involved in providing professional support to students. She was also active in alumni relations: As deputy secretary on the Alumnity board from 2019 to 2021, the bachelor’s graduate always had good ideas up her sleeve, and as a student assistant in the association, she distinguished herself through her constructive collaboration.
