“Welcome to the winter semester 2024/25” was the message on September 3 for more than 900 dual and on-the-job students at the School of Business. From now on, they will once again attend their lectures on one weekday and on Saturdays while working or completing their vocational training at the same time.
At the start of the new semester, the School of Business welcomed 75 first-semester students to the dual bachelor's degree programs in Business Administration and Information Systems. Prof. Dr. Hans-Christoph Reiss, Dean of the School, kicked off the introductory event on September 7 with a warm welcome to the first-semester students. Anne Rosenbauer, Head of Academic Advisory Services, then presented the most important information for a successful start to studying. The AStA student union of Mainz University of Applied Sciences rounded off the program with insights into campus life and the wide range of student activities. The event also offered first-year students a good opportunity to make initial contacts and discuss their upcoming studies.
On September 9th, the first semester students of the trilingual Master’s degree program “Management Franco-Allemand” also started in Metz, over 200 kilometers away. The intercultural and practice-based program is offered in collaboration with the Université de Lorraine. After one year, the students will transfer to Mainz University of Applied Sciences to complete their studies.
