This semester, we are delighted to welcome more than 100 international students from various countries who will spend at least one semester at our university. They will gather both academic and cultural experiences that will be transformative.
The program kicked off with the "Welcome Days," designed to facilitate the newcomers' transition into their studies and life in Mainz. In addition to information about degree programs, German language courses, and university life, a significant emphasis was placed on fostering mutual connections. This was particularly evident during the communal brunch on campus, where it became clear that Mainz offers much more than just academic opportunities.
Following this, the orientation week featured a diverse program for all new students. Icebreaker games, a city rally through Mainz, and the well-known pub tour ensured there was something for everyone. A highlight was the exclusive tour of the MEWA Arena, providing an insider's look at the Bundesliga football club.
Thanks to the numerous events organized by the Student Union (AStA) and the student councils, international students had ample opportunities to connect with fellow students and explore their new surroundings.
The University of Applied Sciences Mainz and the International Office wish all international students a successful start to the semester, along with an exciting and enriching time in Mainz.
