Collaborative EMPOWER project

Meeting to exchange ideas at Mainz University of Applied Sciences

On November 7, 2023, the leadership of the EMPOWER project hosted a project-internal, scientific exchange at Mainz University of Applied Sciences. A total of six up-and-coming young researchers involved in one of almost three dozen EMPOWER projects took the opportunity to present the topic of their (planned) dissertation in 30-minute slots and exchange ideas with those present.

The range of topics covered on this morning was enormous. For example, the EMPOWER team members present heard from Johanna Lienerth and Sandra Debo-Scholz from two different perspectives about the impact New Work factors can have on a company’s success. Matthias Neumann explained why venture studios are a promising model for start-ups. Stephan Struk showed how different sectors can benefit from augmented and virtual reality. Anna Coppers presented approaches to counteract apprenticeship drop-outs in the care sector, and Abdulrahman Allam presented a model to promote the use of hydrogen as an energy source.

The presentations illustrated the diversity of the collaborative EMPOWER project and its economic and social relevance.
