UTP cooperation renewed

New specializations in civil engineering and economics
 

Guests from Malaysia: On October 18, we welcomed a delegation from our partner university Universiti Teknologi Petronas (UTP), led by Prof. Dato’ Ir Ts Dr. Mohamed Ibrahim bin Abdul Mutalib, Vice Chancellor of UTP. UTP is one of Malaysia’s top universities and focuses on the field of engineering in particular.

The collaboration in the field of civil engineering has existed since 2012 and was renewed during the visit with the ceremonial signing of a new partnership agreement. Prof. Dr. Anett Mehler-Bicher, Vice President of Mainz University of Applied Sciences, emphasized the importance of the long-standing collaborative relationship. Prof. Dr. Daniel Porath (School of Business) and Prof. Dr. Alfons Buchmann (School of Engineering) held additional talks on the collaboration with Khairul Azfar bin Zahri (UTP) to discuss the expansion into the School of Business.

In addition to looking at many common aspects of our profile such as transdisciplinarity, close collaboration with partner companies, and the focus on global sustainability goals the expansion of the collaboration to the field of business was also discussed. Gabriel Belinga Belinga from the International Office accompanied the delegation and presented Mainz University of Applied Sciences’ international programs.
