3,900 active participants and 600 speakers in more than 300 sessions: The hybrid University:Future Festival took place from April 26 to 28 with these impressive figures. Under the theme Heads Up, the Higher Education Forum on Digitalization (HfD) and the Foundation for Innovation in Higher Education called for the exchange of ideas under headings such as Openness & Vision, AI & Technology, Exams & Legal, or Spaces & Hybrid Concepts.
The participants included lecturers, support staff, and students, as well as interested parties from external companies.
The Competence Center for Innovation in Teaching and Learning was featured in two lightning talks: On April 26, Prof. Holger Reckter and Thomas Lüttich discussed their experiences with the VR pilot project Color in Space within the panel Innovative Technologies in Teaching. The project is being applied in the Department of Interior Design.
On April 27, the activities continued with the panel The future is open. Here, Alessandra Reß presented the hOERsaal competition, for which students at Mainz University of Applied Sciences 2022 had been called upon to submit learning graphics under an open license.
