Mainz University of Applied Sciences accompanied the Mayor of the City of Mainz, Michael Ebling, to the sister city of Mainz, Valencia, in early September. The Spanish city on the Mediterranean is this year’s World Design Capital 2022. During the visit, the delegation also visited the partner university of Mainz University of Applied Sciences, the Universitat Politècnica de València, where they were welcomed by the Vicerrector de Internacionalización y Comunicación, Jose F. Monserrat and his colleague Nuria Llobregat, Director International Affairs. Together they discussed possibilities for closer cooperation. The delegation was also received at Valencia City Hall by Mayor Joan Ribó and visited the Museo de la Imprenta y de las Artes Gráficas (Museum of Printing and Graphic Arts) near Valencia.
One of the highlights of the visit was the opportunity to gain first-hand insight into the activities, organization, and events surrounding the city promotion project World Design Capital 2022. The title of World Design Capital is awarded by the World Design Organization to recognize and reward achievements of cities around the world in the area of design.
The delegation included Mayor Michael Ebling, Vice President Professor Gregor Ade (Mainz University of Applied Sciences), Silke Philipps-Deters (descom), Dr. Ulf Sölter (Gutenberg Museum, Mainz), Professor Anja Stöffler (Digital Design Department, Mainz University of Applied Sciences).
We would like to say muchas gracias for the many inspiring conversations!
