Open Mind – Open Video!
This is both the title and the motto of the OpenOLAT self-study course on OER and screencasting, which was developed by the Competence Center for Innovation in Studies and Teaching in close collaboration with the Center for Audiovisual Production (ZAP) at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz as part of a funded collaborative project.
On December 5, 2023, the course was announced during a joint online kick-off and is now available to all staff at Rhineland-Palatinate universities.
The course provides information on the topic of OER (open educational resources) and introduces the topics of video production and screencasting. By combining these two topics, we can familiarize course participants with the culture of sharing, which is recommended by UNESCO and other organizations from a sustainability perspective, while also teaching them how to produce such free educational materials in the form of videos.
You can find the course, which has been published as an open resource under CC BY-SA 4.0, here on OpenOLAT.
The course is the result of the collaborative project LEHRwert OER, which was funded by the Virtual Campus Rhineland-Palatinate (VCRP) as part of the OpenEdu-RLP funding line.
