As part of the regular rotation, Professors Dr. Hans-Christoph Reiss and Dr. Ingeborg Haas will take over as Dean and Vice Dean of the School of Business at Mainz University of Applied Sciences as of March 1, 2024. Prof. Reiss and Prof. Haas would like to build on the good work of their predecessor Prof. Dr. Jörn Redler as Dean and Professors Dr. Bianca Baldus and Dr. Britta Rathje as Vice Deans and continue to develop the School of Business as a place of academic excellence and innovation and strengthen and expand the practical orientation in teaching and research.
Students of the School are to be prepared for the current challenges of the modern business world. In addition to the digital transformation, this also includes internationalization and flexibility in the curriculum. Cutting-edge topics relating to sustainability, digitalization, and the use of AI are also to be comprehensively embedded in the School’s activities.
Dr. Reiss is a veteran of the School and holds a professorship in Business Administration with a focus on Controlling at the School of Business. He was Vice President of Mainz University of Applied Sciences from 2004 to 2008 and Managing Director of the Duale Hochschule Rheinland-Pfalz (Rhineland-Palatinate Cooperative State University) from 2010 to 2021. In 2001, he founded the Institut für angewandtes Management in der Sozial- und Gesundheitswirtschaft (Institute for Applied Management in the Social Economy and Healthcare Sector), known as ifams, which he still heads today.
Prof. Dr. Ingeborg Haas has been a Professor of Business Law at Mainz University of Applied Sciences since 2019. She is a lawyer specializing in tax law and managing director of the law firm Dr. Haas & Partner. Since 2022, Ingeborg Haas has also been Director of the Master’s in Taxation degree program and held the position of Equal Opportunities Officer at the School for two years.
