Mainz University of Applied Sciences recently entered into its first university partnership in Taiwan with Shih Chien University. The university was founded in 1958 and the name Shih Chien, which means practice in Chinese, is based on the beliefs of Wang Yangming, a Chinese philosopher: “Knowledge is the beginning of practice. Action is the completion of knowledge.” (1498).
