The LUX Exhibition Pavilion will have a satellite location on Campus. A small pavilion, where projects from the university will also be presented to the public in the years to come, is currently being readied for future use. The LUX Campus Pavilion was already used as part of the special exhibition ABC Avantgarde – Bauhaus – Corporate Design in the courtyard of the Gutenberg Museum during the Bauhaus anniversary year of 2019 under the name bauhaus.labor as an exhibition space for projects of Mainz University of Applied Sciences students.
“We are delighted to be able to use the LUX Campus as a venue for projects from the university, not only downtown but on campus as well, thereby showcasing them to all those who are interested,” commented Vice President for Communication & Community Outreach, Prof. Gregor Ade. “With its very visible location at the entrance to the campus and in the immediate vicinity of the streetcar stop, the exhibited content attracts a wealth of attention and invites visitors to immerse themselves in new topics.”
The name LUX Campus forges a link between the Campus site and the LUX Pavilion, which has become a well-established showcase for the university in the heart of the city.
Just like the LUX, all schools at Mainz University of Applied Sciences will have the opportunity to display content at the LUX Campus. The concept is currently still in development.
Ann-Kathrin Vollmers, who already manages the LUX Pavilion in downtown Mainz, will also be responsible for organizing exhibitions at the LUX Campus.
