Fifty master’s degree students from Strathmore University in Nairobi recently visited the School of Business at Mainz University of Applied Sciences as part of a week-long international field trip. During their stay, the students attended lectures with an international focus and worked together with Mainz students in workshops such as International Marketing and Intercultural Skills. In addition, the program included numerous side trips, including visits to the Mewa Arena, the German Stock Exchange, the Erbach Monastery, and a tour of Mainz. After the eventful days in Rheinhessen, the master’s students received a certificate confirming their successful participation.
The partnership between Strathmore University and Mainz University of Applied Sciences was initiated several years ago and has now been furthered by the Memorandum of Understanding signed by Africa expert Prof. Dr. Claudia Hensel, enabling intercultural exchange between lecturers and students. Claudia Hensel proudly emphasized that Kenya is now the fourth East African country that Mainz University of Applied Sciences has established an active partnership with. After Ethiopia, Rwanda, and Uganda, a cooperation with Lagos University in Nigeria is currently in development. We are pleased that the DAAD recommends Mainz University of Applied Sciences as an expert for higher education development with African partners.
