Resolutely against anti-Semitism

At the 37th Annual General Meeting of the German Rectors’ Conference (HRK) on November 14, 2023 in Berlin, the members once again took a clear stance against anti-Semitism. At the very beginning, HRK President Professor Dr. Walter Rosenthal stressed that universities must be safe places for Jewish people and that universities must take a decisive stance against anti-Semitism. He added that various measures can be taken to achieve this, including the consistent reporting and penalization of anti-Semitic crimes committed by university members.

Mainz University of Applied Sciences is an international place in the heart of Europe and is very open to the world. People from all cultures and backgrounds are what make this place special. They study, teach, work, and live here. All people have the opportunity to be successful here and are not discriminated against. Mainz University of Applied Sciences, as a member of the HRK, endorses this clear position statement.

The coexistence at a university and the productive discussion on and off campus are based on mutual respect, the observance of academic principles, the free and democratic basic order and compliance with the laws.
