100,000 Euro for dual bachelor’s degree program in Civil Engineering

Mainz University of Applied Sciences has received a grant of 100,000 Euro for the new dual bachelor's degree program in Civil Engineering. The funding comes from the innovation fund of the Hochschulinitiative für gutes Studium und gute Lehre (University Initiative for Good Studies and Good Teaching).

The state funding supports the expansion of dual programs at universities of applied sciences in Rhineland-Palatinate.

The practical seven-semester bachelor’s degree program in Civil Engineering at Mainz University of Applied Sciences started in the 2024/2025 winter semester. As a dual program, it is characterized by the structured interlinking of theoretical and practical phases, which is also reflected in the close supervision of students by academic coaches at the university and practical coaches at the companies.

Mainz University of Applied Sciences currently collaborates with six different companies from the region in offering dual studies and is in collaboration negotiations with over 30 more.
