Mainz, November 2, 2024 – The School of Business at Mainz University of Applied Sciences bid farewell to its graduates on Saturday at a graduation ceremony in the Rheingoldhalle in Mainz. More than 1,000 guests filled the Gutenberg Hall: In addition to the recent graduates, family members, friends, program directors and university members were on hand to celebrate the students’ graduation together.
In the period from October 1, 2023 to September 30, 2024, a total of 652 students successfully completed their studies in 19 different degree programs. Of these, 469 students obtained a bachelor’s degree and 183 a master’s degree. 76 of the graduates completed their studies with the grade “Very good” (sehr gut).
Prof. Dr. Hans-Christoph Reiss, Dean of the School of Business, congratulated the graduates personally and spoke of the commitment and dedication the students demonstrated in achieving their goals: “Your success not only shows the high level of our education, but also your commitment and passion.” Each graduate was invited to the stage individually and congratulated by the degree program director. Particularly outstanding achievements were also recognized with cash prizes.
Under the motto “We are business”, the School of Business emphasizes a practice-oriented and values-based education. Here, business involves more than just figures and analyses: The focus is on the responsible use of resources and the promotion of sustainable development. “They have learned to always look at business in a social context. Values such as respect, responsibility, and sustainability are crucial here,” emphasized Reiss.
A new phase of life is now beginning for the graduates. Some will start working towards a master’s degree or join companies, others see their future in the public sector or are planning to become self-employed. “No matter where your path takes you, you have the skills to be successful and make a positive impact on society,” said Reiss, wishing everyone every success for their professional and personal futures. “Have the courage to break new ground and take on challenges.”
