Students in the 4th semester of the on-the-job Master's degree in IT Management program took a field trip to Manila. The visit provided valuable insights into the IT industry and also offered the opportunity to experience the cultural diversity of the Philippine capital.
During their stay, the students from Mainz visited the Asia Development Bank (ADB) to find out about innovative IT developments. At the Goethe Institute Philippines, they immersed themselves in the fascinating culture of the country and were given valuable tips for their stay. They also had the opportunity to learn about the charitable work of AWO International and gain exciting insights into GenAI projects at Accenture. In addition to numerous other company visits, the students were given a detailed look at a state-of-the-art, energy-efficient, and earthquake-proof data center.
Along with the educational highlights, the students experienced the warm hospitality of their hosts and enjoyed their time in Manila – despite the rain. As a token of gratitude, they presented a Bible page from Mainz, printed on a replica of the famous Gutenberg press. This special gift symbolizes not only their hometown, but also the spirit of innovation and entrepreneurship that characterizes their degree program.
