Last summer semester, Prof. Dr. Daniel Kostyra (1st from left) completed his last teaching assignment at Goethe University Frankfurt for the time being. After ten years of teaching, he has transferred to Mainz University of Applied Sciences, where he is now Professor of Marketing Analytics.
A special surprise awaited him as a farewell: On November 8, he was awarded first place in the teaching evaluation – an honor he shares with his colleague Prof. Dr. Jan Landwehr. “I’m particularly pleased that we shared first place,” explained Kostyra. “We go head-to-head every year. It's nice to see that we obviously both did a good job in the summer semester.” This is the seventh award of this kind for him, but only the second time he has won first place.
This year’s award was presented during the Dies Academicus at the House of Finance on the Westend campus in Frankfurt. “Daniel Kostyra has a lot of practical experience himself and explains things very understandably,” emphasized one student during the award ceremony, which was accompanied by particularly high praise from his students. “The lecturer gives very up-to-date examples and speaks in a way that fits our generation of students,” added another student.
We hope that Prof. Dr. Kostyra will continue to fully embrace his joy of teaching in Mainz.
