Clothing swap a success at Mainz University of Applied Sciences

Student project is well-received

The first clothing swap at Mainz University of Applied Sciences took place last Wednesday and was a huge success. A total of 36 university members donated their clothes, while 21 people found new favorites. Around 60 people joined the event, contributing to a more conscious approach to clothing and greater sustainability.

The initiator of the project is Luise Stüber, a student in the Master’s degree program in Employment Law and Human Resources Management. She successfully implemented the idea working together with Prof. Dr. Katharina Dahm and her fellow students. “The project was very well received,” said Luise, who is already planning a second clothing swap for the end of the year in view of the positive response.

Many thanks also go to BUNDjugend, who provided visitors with important information about the fashion industry and promoted awareness of sustainable fashion with fun quizzes. The leftover clothing was donated to the ZMO e.V. in Mainz-Bretzenheim.

The organizers are open to suggestions for improvement and new ideas. You can send these to Luise Stüber by email at luise.stueber (at) students.hs-mainz.de.
