This year’s Project Day for Information Systems and Media took place live and in person again for the first time since 2019. More than 300 students from the bachelor's degree programs of Applied Informatics, Media, IT & Management dual, Digital Media full-time & dual, Information Systems dual and the master’s degree program IT Management on-the-job created a phenomenal atmosphere in the packed auditorium, which benefited the six teams competing for the Media, Innovation and IT Award. The audience also doubled as the judges, voting online for their favorites. After around two hours of a variety of presentations, the time had come. The winners were determined and the award ceremony was held. Each winning team was rewarded with a sum of 500 Euros.
Here are the winners:
The Media Award, presented by Marius Scheffel from ZDF Digital Medienproduktion GmbH, went to the team UX in AI - User Centred Design of Intelligent Applications in Media, Medicine, Mobility. Tillmann Boos, Sarah-Sophie Kiesow, Louisa Neu, Jasper Nielsen and Florian Sieber from the Digital Media degree program designed and created a prototype of an app that uses artificial intelligence to help rescue services bring emergency patients to hospitals.
The innovation award went to Daniel Best, Florian Hampel, Lukas Jakob, Hannes Krauss, Mike Mann, Daniel Pluhar, Johannes Reiter and Niklas Schäfer from the degree program Information Systems dual. Their project Snatchz - conception and development of an application for the creation and fulfillment of challenges convinced the audience. Stefan Hörhammer from Medialine EuroTrade AG had the pleasure of congratulating the team and presenting them with the award.
Steffen Assenmacher, Ömer Can Dikkule and Marco Kelner, also from the degree program Information Systems dual, won the IT prize. The team used a Raspberry Pi to read, process, and display data via the CAN bus of a motor vehicle. The lucky winners received the prize from Dr. Gernot Uhl of URANO Informationssysteme GmbH.
In addition to the competition of outstanding projects, the Best Bachelor’s Thesis 2022 and the Best Master’s Thesis 2022 were also honored. Laura Schlagowski and Jona Becher were each awarded 250 Euros for their bachelor’s thesis by Monika Knoch from R+V Allgemeine Versicherung AG. Master’s graduate Hannah Drews received a prize of 500 Euros for her outstanding master’s thesis, which Nadine Puglisi from HDP Gesellschaft für ganzheitliche Datenverarbeitung mbH presented to her.
The Information Systems group was pleased about being able to hold the project day in person, so that the diverse projects – which presented a wide range of topics from the analysis of future job profiles in the media industry to the optimization of supply chains through IoT technology – could also be displayed on a grand stage in the truest sense of the word.
The School of Business congratulates all award winners and extends its sincere thanks to all sponsors for their support.
