Internationalization of Universities
Mainz University of Applied Sciences receives the HRK Audit certificate from the German Rectors' Conference
In the academic year 2011/2012, Mainz University of Applied Sciences was the first Rhineland-Palatinate university of applied sciences to participate in the Internationalization of Universities audit conducted by the German Rectors' Conference. The audit provides targeted support to the universities in identifying and further developing their specific international profile. The process takes more than a year and involves all parties involved in internationalization. A project group consisting of the President, representatives from the schools, the International Office and the student body was set up.
The university submitted an extensive self-report to the audit team, which served as a basis for discussions and subsequent recommendations. In March 2012, the audit team paid a three-day visit to Mainz University of Applied Sciences. The committee consisted of three representatives of the German Rectors' Conference and three external experts with international experience. The audit team held talks with the university management, the International Office, the deans, non-German university staff members, internationally active researchers, foreign and German students and other representatives from the university administration.
The team of experts submitted a detailed recommendation report to the university. The university has meanwhile implemented most of these recommendations and is well on its way to becoming " Mainz International University of Applied Sciences".
