StuPa Student Parliament
Student Parliament
We are the Student Parliament of Mainz University of Applied Sciences and form the heart of the student representation (StuVe). Our most important tasks are to make use of the General Student Council (AStA), to organize the finances of the student representation and, together with the AStA and the departmental student councils, to collect and pool student interests and represent them, for example, in dealings with the university Executive Board.
The work of the Student Parliament
To organize its work, the Student Parliament is divided into various committees, which are based on the areas of responsibility of the StuPa and whose head is the Executive Committee.
Committees
The Executive Committee represents the StuPa, but its main task is to facilitate and support the work of the committees. It ensures the organizational framework, plans meetings and events; and is available to advise and assist the committees. You can reach us at: praesidium.stupa (at) asta-hs-mainz.de
The Finance Committee deals with all questions and approvals relating to the finances of the other student representatives. We take a very conscientious approach to ensuring that the funds entrusted to the student representatives are used responsibly and in a targeted manner in the interests of the student body. To make this possible, there are special deadlines and forms to be observed when submitting cost estimates, for example. If you would like to find out more about our work or specific concerns, you can contact us at: finanzen.stupa (at) asta-hs-mainz.de
The Auditing Committee organizes the budget with the help of the Finance Committee and audits the accounts at the end of each fiscal year to ensure that the funds entrusted to the student representatives are used responsibly and in a targeted manner in the interests of the student body. We can be contacted at: revision.stupa (at) asta-hs-mainz.de
One of the most important issues of our time also impacts the work of the Student Parliament. To do justice to this in all aspects, the Equal Opportunities Committee deals exclusively with all inquiries, concerns, and suggestions from the student body regarding equal opportunities.
The University Policy Committee connects the student representatives of all committees, forwards concerns and requests to the right places and in doing so contributes to the collection, pooling, and pursuit of student interests.
The Public Relations Committee ensures transparency regarding the work of the Student Parliament so that the student body is aware of how the Student Parliament deals with the mandate entrusted to it and, if necessary, can take corrective action in the election for the next legislative period.
We have a committee for each of the three Schools of Design, Engineering, and Business that deals explicitly with the networking and coordination of student representatives and the interests of the individual schools.
The Events Committee is there to help us plan events such as the Mainz University of Applied Sciences Info Day or Orientation Week at the start of each new semester. This committee also ensures that we are well-equipped for our Student Parliament meetings and that one or two team-building activities take place.
Meetings
We always invite the entire university community to our monthly meetings by email. All interested parties, students, StuPa, AStA, and student council members can attend in person or usually have the opportunity to listen to a live broadcast. If you would like to inform us as a guest about relevant topics concerning the student body and the university during our meeting, you are welcome to send a request (name of requester, title of the request and brief description of the content) to our Executive Committee email address so that the request can be included in the agenda.
