Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering

If you want to work in a widely diversified arena where you can be creatively and responsibly involved in the designing of the places we live in, the bachelor's degree program Civil Engineering is the right choice for you. After successfully concluding your studies, you will be able to assume responsibility for interesting tasks in the planning, designing, calculation and execution of structures. Our goal is to equip you with the broadest possible knowledge base and deepen your knowledge in the areas related to construction. During your studies, there are three areas to choose from. The program intends to not only ensure your technical and engineering qualifications, but also to strengthen your autonomy and creativity, and the awareness of responsible designing in regard to the environment. The academic degree Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) in construction is awarded after completion of the seven-semester degree program. The bachelor's degree program of Civil Engineering is accredited by the agency ASIIN.

Successful completion of your studies opens up a broad range of professional prospects to you. A number of attractive, challenging and well-paid positions for civil engineers in all areas can be found in the construction industry, in medium-sized construction companies, at engineering companies and with public planning authorities. Even when economic fluctuations are factored in, work in the construction industry is oriented towards the future and characterized by a high level of market stability.

Consecutive master's program

For particularly qualified graduates with a bachelor's degree or a diploma (FH), Mainz University of Applied Sciences offers the possibility of a higher qualification in the accredited consecutive master's degree program Civil Engineering: Construction in Existing Contexts. The degree program builds on the bachelor's program and is based on the scientific foundations and methods of civil engineering.

The master's degree program provides you with in-depth expertise in one of the three possible majors: Construction Operations, Construction Engineering or Infrastructure Water and Traffic.

Upon completion of the three-semester program, you are awarded the academic degree of Master of Engineering (M.Eng.)
