Human Resource Management

New developments in the world of work pose challenges for HR. New ways of hybrid and digital work are reshaping communication and collaboration cultures. In the shortage of skilled workers, the preferences of potential employees during recruitment and onboarding determine the extent to which an employer appears attractive. Virtual collaboration in international projects also requires certain skills and expertise from team members. HR Business Partners advise managers and their teams and develop modern HRM concepts for implementation. If you would like to deepen your professional expertise in HRM at the master's level, the HRM specialization with the required module and two options is right for you:

In the required module HRM & Analytics, you will look at strategies and tools for modern, evidence-based and sustainable HR management. You will consider psychological, ethical, ecological and legal aspects of HR management and develop solutions to address practical problems. You will learn about current trends, fields of application and examples of the use of HR analytics in various HR functions and develop data literacy in dealing with HR data..

In the HR option Strategic HRM Project, at the beginning of the semester a selected company presents two to four strategic HR topics to be addressed. In this context, you as students take on the role of an HR consultant and independently develop proposals for solutions. At the end of the semester, these HR concepts are presented and discussed at the company that assigned them. This HR option focuses in particular on application-oriented teaching between real-world business practice and the application-oriented master's degree program.

In the HR option Leadership and Human Resource Management in International Companies, you will develop a critical understanding of international management and HRM concepts in all relevant HR and leadership areas. You will be able to differentiate between these concepts and assess their impact on management. You will learn about the relationship between leadership and HRM in the context of multinational companies. This includes an understanding of HRM best practice concepts, the opportunities and risks of digital HRM processes and their targeted application and relevance in different cultures.
