Robin Diehl
Management Consultant – Finance, PwC Deutschland
Robin first obtained a bachelor's degree in business administration at the RheinMain University of Applied Sciences in Wiesbaden. As his studies progressed, he developed an increasing affinity for topics relating to financial analysis, cost structures and strategic management. He decided to add a master's degree program to his existing academic education to further expand his knowledge in these areas in particular.
One of his requirements of the degree program was direct practical relevance. Theoretical content should be put directly into a real-life context. In addition, the degree program had to offer a combination of interdisciplinary management content and the teaching of selected specialized knowledge. As the Master's in Management program at Mainz University of Applied Sciences met both of these requirements, Robin decided to take this step.
He chose Finance & Controlling as his specialization and was able to acquire a thorough understanding of the world of finance. As part of his master's thesis, he analyzed the sustainability reports of the DAX 30 for the 2018 financial year.
After accepting a position in accounting at Süwag Energie AG while writing his master's thesis, he joined PwC as a Management Consultant in January 2020. There, he mainly advises companies on the design and implementation of digital controlling tools (reporting, forecasting, cost management). In addition to traditional project work, he also deals with innovative solutions and current trends in the field of controlling & finance (Reporting 5.0, BI software, predictive planning).
In addition to his professional qualifications, his studies at Mainz University of Applied Sciences also fostered character development. By regularly preparing and holding presentations, for example, he improved his communication skills. The combination of these two components laid the foundation for a successful start to his professional career.
